Jonathan's government is the most corrupt govt in Nigeria's history- Dino Melaye

Is that so? Senator-elect, Dino Melaye, has alleged that the government of President Jonathan is the most corrupt in Nigeria's history. He made the allegation in a new interview with Premium Times.
“Jonathan is the promoter of corruption. I am telling you that the Government of Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan is the most corrupt in Nigerian history but who we have as president-elect of this country today, Muhammadu Buhari, the man I see as the nemesis of corruption. I am an advocate of anti-corruption and for me if I enter office, I am going to do it more this time around. More importantly, now that we have a government that is going to have zero tolerance for corruption, we must as legislators carry out our functions from any form of sacrifice.” he said

Sanusi’s Article On Missing oil Money Breaks Twitter

Several Nigerians took to twitter to praise Emir Sanusi for his comments about the recent audit report by PricewaterhouseCoopers on the alleged missing $20 billion oil money.
Sanusi’s Article On Missing oil Money Breaks Twitter
Emir Sanusi
The former Central Bank Governor who was the one that brought the issue of the missing $20bn  into limelight has reacted to the controversial audit report by PricewaterhouseCoopers on the alleged missing money.
The Emir in an article titled, “Unanswered questions on Nigeria’s missing oil revenue billions”, published by the Financial Times of London, insisted that the PwC Audit Report confirmed that about $18.5billion of the NNPC’s earnings was not remitted to the treasury, contrary to what the Petroleum Minister Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke claimed.
He argued that the outstanding amount used by the NNPC for apparently unlawful purposes such as kerosene subsidy, does not dismiss the notion that the NNPC illegally withheld billions of oil dollars from the government.
On hearing of the Emirs insistence that the oil money was still missing, several Nigeriansto to twitter to praise him for his courage.
Here are some of the tweets below”
In February 2014, President Jonathan suspended Sanusi after his accusations of missing oil revenue sparked a public outcry and criticism against the government

Historical nude pic of football legends Pelé & Franz Beckenbauer

A very rare historical nude picture of football legends King Pelé and Kaiser Franz Beckenbauer (both men pictured above) in what seems to be a locker room in the 60s has made its way to the internet. Pelé is full frontal nude in the photo, while Beckenbauer (younger him pictured right) is also nude but backing the camera.

Beckenbauer is generally regarded as one of the greatest German footballers of all time and one of the most decorated footballers in the history of the game and twice won European Footballer of the Year. He is 69 now. While Pelé is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time and has been named World Player of the Century by many groups. He is 74 now. See the photo after the cut...

Boko Haram: Soldiers Write Letter To GEJ

A group of Nigerian soldiers, called themselves as patriotic offices, write a letter to the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.
The soldiers accused the president of imposition of unprofessional generals in the Nigerian military stating that money budgeted to fight terrorists was actually spent arming the terrorists.
The officers said President Jonathan could’ve stopped the Boko Haram militants from developing into a terrorist group, but he deliberately stopped efforts to snuff it out when it was still a mere menace.

It called for the removal of several officials who were imposed on the Nigerian army.
It should be noted that recently one of the teenagers rescued among others in Sambisa forest from Boko Haram revealed the terrorists were receiving the information of the movements of the military
The Nigerian army rescued about 1000 women and children in the North East.
Meanwhile, the terrorists attacked again in Potiskum.
At least 5 people where killed while many others injured when suicide bomber suspected to be Boko Haram member activated explosive at the gate of the business school in Yobe.

How The Nigerian Military Got Degenerated Recently By The Imposition Of Unprofessional Generals At The Helm Of Affairs
1. Mr President sir, once more we write to intimate you on the unprofessional conduct of some of the so called Generals you appointed to hold high commands in the military, but unfortunately they succeeded in its destruction. You have sufficiently been warned before about no many wrong doings within the military but you turned a blind eye. This could be due to your complicit in the whole affair or lack of control in your administering the nation. Under your watch, the Nigerian military has degenerated to its lowest ebb because of your weakness and the professional incompetence of the so called military commanders you put in charge. In the Nigerian military today, mediocrity and sycophancy reins largely due to the promotion and appointments of unmerited officers. We hope that this time around you will take quick necessary actions to address this hopeless situation before the end of your tenure. Thank God Nigeria has now elected a more serious and competent person as its next leader.
2. Your Excellency sir, it is a public knowledge that you inherited a rag tag Boko Haram that has little ability to carry out the deadly attacks we witnessed during your tenure. Even a daft would know that these called Boko Harem are controlled and are directed to hit at some selected target. Thereby giving the public impression as if they are a formidable force that required large fore and weaponry to contain. During these periods, your government deliberately denied our troops of adequate equipment to arrest the situation on time. It is a well-known fact that your government budgeted a lot of money to combat insurgency.
Everyone knows that part of the budget was used to arm the Boko Haram, thereby making them more ferocious and deadly as we witnessed. While most part of the budget was looted by your corrupt appointed senior military commanders. Imagine, a whooping sum of over 4 billion Naira is budgeted quarterly for the administrative and logistic upkeep of troops in the ongoing operations in the North East. Despite these entire huge amounts, our troops grossly complain of bask necessities including even their regular allowance. Lt Gen KTJ Minimah must be the richest Chief of Army Staff in history aside Lt Gen OA Ihejirika (rtd).
3. Surprisingly, when the just concluded elections drew near and you desperately needed popular support especially in the north, you directed that new military hardware’s be purchased in order to confront and defeat the so called Boko Haram within the shortest possible time. It is of knowledge to most Nigerians that almost 90 % of the hardware’s purchased were not new but were refurbished. This accounted for the ineffectiveness and constant breakdown of the so called new weapons in the battle field. It will however interest you to also know that bulk of the ammunition ordered and brought into the country recently by your government were manufactured in 1975 and are therefore obsolete. All these were dishonestly done in order to fetch maximum financial gains for your corrupt senior military commanders at the detriment of providing quality to their country. What a corrupt, unpatriotic and criminal ways of crippling own military and country. The whole weapons and ammunitions were coordinated and purchased by the Army Minister for Special Duties in the person of Brigadier General Dennis Mustapha Onoylveta.
4. Mr President sir, most of these Generals you appointed into high commands of the military lack the administrative and command intellect to effectively lead even an ordinary fighting platoon in battle. Most of them have dearly displayed their emptiness and lack of mental demands required of them to competently carry out their assigned tasks. In the Army headquarters today, generals no longer offer quality inputs and advice on issues of military administration. They only tell the COAS what he wants to hear. Thereby giving room far mediocrity and sycophancy.
One wonders why the barely two year old 7 division have so far been commanded by five Generals. All of them have woefully failed in their command and administrative abilities. One again wonders why there is too much court marshals presently going on in the Army. The Nigerian Army has entered into the Guinness Book of Records by having more than 4000 officers and soldiers been Court Martial within the period of one year. The several court marshals were just conducted as a cover up for Incompetence and weakness of the Army high command
It is a sort of FRUSTRATION AGGRESSIVE ACTION. It might interest you to know that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Minirnah and his other corrupt Generals are presently making frantic efforts to beef up previously under staffed units in the field for fear of possible investigation by the incoming no nonsense government. You remember sir, we earlier exposed the fact that the figures given on paper as the strength of troops operating in the north east is not corresponding with what obtains physically on ground. Hence the ongoing effort to cover up. What a corrupt and degenerated Army. No wonder our military has become a laughing stock among African Nations and the world at large. The current situation on ground is that the COOS has given an order to dismiss 4,500 soldiers or there about from the army on or before 27 May 2015, for refusing to fight Boko Haram without enough ammunitions and no sophisticated Support weapons with them to combat the insurgents. Mr President Sir, dismissing those innocent soldiers may cause another havoc to the Nation.
5. As we are writing this paper, some 9 officers and over 200 soldiers are on their way from Maiduguri to Jos for jurisdiction. Their offense is said tube disobedience to ILLEGAL ORDERS. In that the soldiers refused to fight without adequate weapons/equipment it was even said that the soldiers were without food for 3 days. It was also said that the GOC 7 Division, Major General LO Adeosun accompanied by a director from Army Headquarters Department of Operations, Major General AG Okunlola were physically with these same troops In the battle field at Bitta when Boko Haram attacked last week. The GOC and the director took away the most serviceable Armored Personnel Carrier and runaway with it, leaving the troops with the only unserviceable one and one 105rnm Artillery Gun to their fate.

Where on earth has only one Artillery Gun ever deployed for operation? This can only be done in the present Nigerian Army where empty Generals are in charge. What unprofessional and a cowardly act by two supposedly trained Generals. Mel Gen LO Adeoson should be removed as GOC 7 division with immediate effect before he plunge the division into further disaster. The questions one would further ask are:
a. Why did the GOC and his colleague not call for reinforcement from Air force and his divisional assets to assist in defeat of the Boko Haram attack??
b. Why would the GOC not have sufficiently read the battle and direct the Junior commanders on what to do rather than escaping??
c. Why would the 7 division plan an operation without making adequate ‘ logistics arrangement to the extent that troops had to stay without food and water for 3 days? Is that the teaching and practice in the Nigerian Army?

Burundi army general declares coup against the country's president

According to reports, Burundi's army general Godefroid Niyombare (left) has announced a coup against President Nkurunziza (right). Says he no longer recognizes Pierre Nkurunziza as President following massive protest and unrest over his bid to be re-elected for a third term.

According to the army chief, the army is working with civil society groups, religious leaders and politicians to form a transitional government. He told reporters at a military barracks that the president had violated the constitution by seeking a third term.

In a radio broadcast, Niyombare said;
“Regarding President Nkurunziza’s arrogance and defiance of the international community, which advised him to respect the constitution and Arusha peace agreement, the committee for the establishment of the national concord decide President Nkurunziza is dismissed, his government is dismissed too.
The masses have decided to take into their own hands the destiny of the nation to remedy this unconstitutional environment into which Burundi has been plunged.
"The masses vigorously and tenaciously reject President Nkurunziza's third-term mandate President Pierre Nkurunziza has been relieved of his duties. The government is overthrown." he said.
In a swift reaction, the office of the president has rubbished the general's declaration, calling it “a joke”. The president is in Tanzania at an African summit to discuss the crisis in his country

After the army general made the announcement, crowds who had earlier been out on the streets of the capital protesting against the president began cheering and celebrating his dismissal.

The art of politics and getting things done for now can only be done through Tinubu - Oba of Lagos

In a fresh interview with Punch, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu expressed his reservations over some PDP politicians especially in Lagos state who were in disagreement with APC Chieftain Bola Tinubu. According to him, the art of politics & getting things done for now can only be done through Tinubu
"There are still good people in the PDP. I am not saying that. Don’t misquote me. There are many good people like Ade Dosunmu and even Jimi Agbaje, who is my blood relation. But it is unfortunate because there are some things I don’t want to disclose. Their hatred of Bola Tinubu is the mistake they are making. He is an individual they don’t understand. You know Jesus said in the Bible that ‘Father please forgive them for they know not what they do’.
And the Tinubu that they wanted to destroy, see what God has helped him to do for Nigeria. The Bible said the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. The art of politics and getting things done for now, can only be done through Bola Tinubu, which they do not understand. Some people say I always agree with him and it is because they do not know me. I have no friend or enemy and I don’t have a reservoir of knowledge but God has found me worthy. We argue on many occasions and at times, he suggests reasonable things which I concur with but sometimes, I will convince him to accept my own and as a son to a father, he has no choice but to obey me"he said

Jonathan Speaks Up About Reason Behind Former IG's Removal

President Goodluck Jonathan finally revealed the real reason behind the controversial sacking of Suleiman Abba, Nigeria’s inspector general of police.
Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati announced that Suleiman Abba was removed as the inspector general of police in a statement on April 21 without giving any further explanations.
However, the Cable quoting President Jonathan reported that Abba was removed for “indiscipline” in the force.
There were several theories why Abba was sacked, one of them suggests that he was removed for not manipulating the 2015 elections in favour of Jonathan. Another suggests that he had “brazenly” switched loyalty to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari immediately after the polls.
However, a former IG and chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro, said to the media on Tuesday, May 12, that the president has disclosed the reason.
“I may not attempt to answer that question because I’m not part of the presidency that removed him, so I cannot give adequate answer. Though at the meeting [the president] tried to explain to members, based on the question raised by one of the governors, that Nigerians may want to know why the former IGP was removed,” Okiro said.
“The president, in very brief way, said during the period of the former IGP, a lot of indiscipline was noticed among the rank and file of the police and as such he felt that a new IG should come and try his luck. That is what he said, though I cannot give details of that,” he added.
Meanwhile, a new inspector general of police has been confirmed by the police service commission. Abba’s successor, Solomon Arase, was appointed in acting capacity immediately Abba was removed and has now been confirmed the 18th indigenous IG.
Though, it remains to be seen if Buhari would retain him after his inauguration on May 29.

Obasanjo Attends Jonathan's Meeting At The Last Hour

What could have been a replay of February 5 drama was overturned when former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obasanjo showed up at the last hour in Tuesday’s Council of state meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It would be recalled that General Obasanjo boycotted the last council of state meeting held on February 5.
Weeks after that, President Jonathan revealed why Obasanjo avoided him and why the former head of state has been throwing jabs at him.
According to him (Jonathan), Obasanjo’s attacks on him were as a result of his failure to surrender his administration to the former leader.
Jonathan said Obasanjo was so bent on controlling his government that he would not mind installing the devil in power so long as he can control him.
However, according to a report by The Nation, the former president entered the council chamber, venue of the meeting at 12.10pm, about 40 minutes behind schedule as it was reported that the meeting started at 11.30am after the arrival of President Jonathan.

LASU Will Be Re-opened Within One Week

Fatai Olukoga, Special Assistant on Education to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos state, has stated that the Lagos State University, LASU, which had been shut for over two months, will be re-opened in the next one week.
The SAE, who has been under fire in recent weeks over allegations of connivance with some people to impose a Rector on the Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, told Naij.com in an exclusive interview, that discussions on the date for the re-opening of LASU is within touching distance as discussions are ongoing.
LASU Will Be Re-opened Within One Week
Hon Fatai Olukoga, Special Assistant on Education to Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state
Speaking in his office inside the Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, Tuesday, Olukoga insisted that those who are involved in the LASU crisis have allowed it to drag for too long, hence the continuous delay of academic activities in the institution.

But with the parties involved in crucial talks, the Ikorodu Indigene has set a week deadline for the re-opening of the institution.
The issue here is between the unions and the school management and the reason it has been dragging is the refusal of all the parties involved to reach a compromise.
But, I can assure you that there is serious dialogue going on between the parties involved presently, and a compromise shall be reached sooner than later,” he explained
Asked for a date he thinks the institution would be re-opened, Olukoga stated with assurance that, “within the next one week, the issues would have been resolved and the school re-opened for activities. That is the situation right now as far as LASU is concerned.
The students’ agitations are not quite difficult to handle. The major challenge is with the unions and I believe that an agreement will soon be reached“.
It would be recalled that some members of staff recently pelted the VC of LASU with sachets of water, asking him to leave the premises of the institution.

The use of POS is popular in supermarkets, boutiques and banks but not in commercial vehicles.
Recently, a photo surfaced online, of a taxi driver who makes use of POS.
This is the first time, we will be hearing of a taxi driver making use of POS in Nigeria.
One of the advantages for taxi drivers is that they will no longer wait for passengers to fumble and count their money or worry about looking for change.
It will also be an advantage for passengers who have no cash on them as they can make use of their ATM card.

Five Reasons Why Bayern Can Reach The CL Final

2013 Champions league winners, Bayern Munich will know a miracle can help them overcome Barcelona in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final clash.
Barcelona are the form team in Europe and with Messi, Neymar and Suarez firing on all cylinders. One could be forgiven for thinking their 3-0 advantage from the first leg will be enough for them to advance to the finals but as we know football is unpredictable.
Here are five reasons why Bayern Munich can upset the odds and defeat Barcelona with at least four goal:
They have defeated Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk
Porto and Shakhtar might not be Barcelona but Bayern defeated both team in previous knock out games by huge scorelines. In the round of 16 Bayern were held by Shakhtar in Ukrain 0-0 but in the return fixture in Germany, Bayern defeated the Ukrainian side 7-o which is the biggest win in this season’s champions league.
In the match against Porto, Bayern were defeated 3-1 on Portugal but the return fixture was a different story as Bayern in a masterful performance defeated the Portuguese side 6-1.
Home Record
Facing Bayern in their home fortress of Allianz Arena will send shivers down the spine of any opponent. Bayern have won all five of their Champions League home games so far, scoring a 19 goals and conceding only once. That is some record to behold.
Five Reasons Why Bayern Can Reach The CL Final
Bayern have won all five of their Champions League home games so far
Also Bayern average 3.8 goals per game in European home matches this season. Added to that Bayern remain Champions League top scorers with 30 goals in 11 games in total despite their 3-0 defeat to Barcelona.
They are managed by a great tactician
Bayern have one of the best managers in football; Pep Guardiola. The tactician is very good setting his team for matches. In the first leg, Bayern has more possession and Pep set his team to soak the pressure and try counters through the centers which worked for a while but a little man called Lionel Messi took matters into his hands.
Five Reasons Why Bayern Can Reach The CL Final
Pep Guardiola
During a recentpress conference Pep said “We have to be patient and cannot do everything in the first 15-20 minutes. First we have to play football and see what happens. Maybe we can then score a goal and create an atmosphere in the stadium.” Those are the words of a confident man.
Other teams have done it
Other teams have defied the odds in a knock out game and even a final to advance in the champions league. A most recent outsome was the 2005 Istanbul final which Liverpool came out victorious despite trailing after the 1st half 3-0.
Another recent result was the 2004 champions league quarter-final between Deportivo La Coruna and AC Milan. milan led the first leg 4-1 but Deportivo shocked Milan to win 4-0 in the return leg.
Also teams have scored three goals against Barcelona this team; PSG and Real Madrid while the likes of Sevilla, Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao have scored twice against Luis Enrique’s men.
 – Success against Spanish Teams
Ahead of tonight’s match, Bayern can take consolation that in 22 home games against Spanish opposition, they have won 15, drawn five and only lost twice.
Bayern have fared well against Barcelona in previous matches. They have defeated barcelona five times in nine meetings, and before last week’s defeat they had only lost once to the Catalan side.

Saraki Gets More Endorsement For Senate President

Doctor Bukola Saraki, the ex-governor of Kwara State, seemed to be in a good position to win the President of the eighth session of the Senate.ently said that party and the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari don’t want to get into any collision course with the senators and members of the House of Representatives, henceforth the decision to support popular candidates as the Senate President or the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, a group known as the Buhari Legacy Foundation, called on senators-elect to choose Bukola Saraki.
The chairmen of the APC in the North-Central region has also backed his candidacy.
On his turn Dele Momodu, former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party, considers that former Kwara state governor stands a better chance of becoming Nigeria’s Senate President.
The 64 ranking and newly-elected senators in support of Saraki, who is from the North-central geopolitical zone, had decided to toss their weight behind the ex Kwara governor because they want a “Senate president who is not imposed by a godfather.”
Some renowned elders in Ilorin Emirate of Kwara on May 11, Monday have expressed their support for the ambition of Saraki, who is one of a chieftain of the party.
The elders expressed sureness in the capability of ex-governor to give quality leadership in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
They thanked the National Working Committee of the party for giving the office of the Senate president to the north-central zone.
The elders said this in a comment signed by Alh. Ganiyu Lawal-Giwa, Alh. Tijjani Orisankoko, Alh. Tunde Saka and Alh.Musa Aiyelabegan.
They urged APC chieftains to take a step forward by conceding the position to Kwara in the interest of fairness.
The elders said: “Since Saraki’s foray into partisan politics, we have keenly monitored his activities and have come to the conclusion that he’s one of the best leaders that God endows Nigeria with.
“We are highly impressed about Saraki’s performance as two-term governor of Kwara, chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum and chairman of the prestigious Nigerian Governors Forum.
“It is on record that during his tenure as NGF’s chairman, the Turaki of Ilorin took the now comatose forum to an enviable pedestal.
“It is in line with the above that members of this forum are urging the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Saraki for the position of the Senate president.”

Change Is Never Easy – Charly Boy Writes Open Letter To Buhari

Some days ago a controversial Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy shared his opinion about the zoning formula. Now he has gone even further by writing an open letter addressed to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari.
Change Is Never Easy - Charly Boy Writes Open Letter To Buhari
Charly Boy

The 63-year-old celebrity likes to express himself through the pieces dedicated to various issues. It might be either the stories from his private life, the essays on family values or sexuality. The reader might either agree or disagree with his position, but one thing remains unchanged: the celebrity’s publications never remain unnoticed and generate numerous reactions.
See the recent one about, coming before Buhari’s official power handover on May 29. Charly Boy stresses the high level of expectations inflicted on the future leader:
“Oga GMB,
“How far? I trust you have been getting enough rest and getting ready for the mother of all battles in your life. You know how hard and how long you have fought for this and now that you have it, we can’t wait to see how our lives will change!

“You must understand that our expectations are high, but you can’t blame us too much. By faith or design, you have become a symbol of renaissance for a nation that has been battered by mismanagement and unprecedented corruption. Kai! Odiegwu!
“Many of us were sold on your Change campaign, tired of the usual statuesque and many more just wanted a better life for ourselves and our loved ones. All eyes are on you, I trust you know that by now. This Change should demonstrate to us possibilities, hope again for the youths of this country and a channeling back to those core values which we hold sacred. Anything less will be same of the same. Shey you get?
“Fact from fiction, truth from rhetoric, I know that it is foolhardy to expect that one individual alone can by himself/herself bring about this Change we desperately need and earnestly desire. However, inasmuch as you need to raise a viable team to work with, using the formula of zoning won’t cut it. My earnest advice to you is to choose officers and men strictly on merit and not necessarily what geopolitical zone they come from. Remember, this same zoning formula has been used at different times in this country, and each time, it has failed. The issue of zoning coming up now again is a reminder of times in the past that we desperately want to forget. Same of the same?
“I would want to believe that you have come to heal and fix the rot. It will never be easy because of the wolves and sharks amongst us who benefit big time from the corruption, the poverty, the confusion and hopelessness they inflict on Nigerians.

“So after May 29th, as you put on your boxing gloves and crank your whip, we will be watching with bathed breath to see not only the will to fight this battle but the sincerity and strategies to lead us on the path of true healing for our broken Nation.”
Do you have the same expectations from Muhammadu Buhari

Muller: Bayern can shock world football.....i Pray ooo.........

The Germany star says his side have nothing to lose as they approach the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against the Catalans
Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller believes his side can make a statement to the world of football by overcoming Barcelona.
Pep Guardiola's side's chances of reaching the Champions League final are remote after they lost 3-0 in the first leg of the last-four tie at Camp Nou.
However, Muller is eyeing an ambitious second-leg comeback in Tuesday's return game at the Allianz Arena, which he believes would shock the rest of Europe.
"I am neither very euphoric nor very pessimistic," he said at a press conference.
"We need to take our chances. Everyone knows that things were better before. We will have a plan.
"That first leg was a huge disappointment. But since we left Camp Nou we've wanted to make up for it. If we go through, it will be a statement for the world of football. This is the plan and it's not stupid.
"In football, many things are possible. That's why there's still hope and we still believe in ourselves. We can't expect things to go like against Porto. But that's what we need.
"We have to find the right mix of better attacking and more calmness on the ball. The three-man defence was a risk against a three-man attack.
"The coach will prepare us well and the rest is will and support from the fans."
Muller went on to add that the recent slump in form has not affected the mood of Guardiola.
"I haven't noticed any difference. But of course, right after a decisive defeat the mood is not good.
"We have nothing to lose against Barca and this is how the players and the coach are approaching the match. We will give it a try, it is not over yet. We will give everything until the referee blows his whistle."

A picture of former military ruler, Gen Sani Abacha with former Palestine leader, Yasser Arafat taken on Sunday, June 7, 1998 a day before he died on June 8, 1998 has gone viral.
Abacha died while at the presidential villa in Abuja. He was buried on the same day, according to Muslim tradition, without an autopsy. It led to speculation that he may have been executed extra judicially by way of being poisoned by political rivals via prostitutes

The government identified the cause of death as a sudden heart attack. It is reported that he was in the company of two Indian prostitutes imported from Dubai. It is thought that the prostitutes laced his drink with a poisonous substance, making Abacha feel unwell around 4:30am. He retired to his bed and was dead by 6:15am.
It was recently revealed that a new loot of $370 million has been traced to the former Military Head of State, late Sani Abacha in Luxembourg.

She said;  “We were fed with white rice and oil but nobody touched us or came near us except the boy that usually gives us food and water. We were about 18 in the village”
Narrating her how the insurgents captured she said the insurgents raided her community on April 9, 2014 and captured her, her husband and their six children.
She continued her story; “They took me at night around 2.00am on April 9, 2014. Myself, my husband and children were inside the compound.

“They took my husband away and I don’t know where he is, they brought me and my children into the Sambisa forest, we spent two months inside Sambisa forest, then they took us to another village where we spent the wet season.
“We were taken to another village in Gwoza where we spent one month, but we did not see the Chibok girls, it was a week after they took us to the Sambisa forest they took the Chibok girls, we did not see each other.
“They carried away two of my children (boys) till now I have not seen them together with my neighbour’s children.”
Aishatu was interviewed in one of the camps for the rescued 275 women and children in Malcoi, Yola South Local Government Area or Adamawa State in north-east Nigeria.
Over the past three weeks, Boko haram insurgents have rescued more than 400 women from the insurgents but have been confirmed as one of the kidnapped girls.
The military initially rescued 293 girls and women, then later the defense headquarters announced the rescue of additional captives.
Following on their rescue operations, the military continued on the offensive and rescued more than 20 women and children .

Buhari To Send Top Security Officials Packing

Following his victory at the polls, president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari is set to overhaul the security agencies in the country as reports have indicated that all the service chiefs, the director general, State Security Services (SSS) and the national security adviser (NSA) will be sent packing on May 29.
In a report made available by Leadership, the service chiefs are Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lt General Kenneth Tobiah Jacob Minimah, the Chief of Army Staff, Vice Admiral Usman O. Jibrin, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) and Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu, Chief of Air Staff, Col. Sambo Dasuki, National Security Adviser.
It was gathered that these top military chiefs were appointed by the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan, on 16th January, 2014, in a statement issued and signed by his media adviser, Dr Reuben Abati.
The president announced their appointments in replacement of the then Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azuibuike Ihejirika; and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Joseph Ezeoba.

Speaking with the media outfit, an informed security observer explained that it was the usual practice that service chiefs departed from the scene once the tenure of their principal expired in order to allow the new helmsman to begin on a fresh note.
“It is the norm; service chiefs always depart from the scene with the man who hired them in order to allow the new leader to bring in those who are loyal to him. Remember, when former President Olusegun Obasanjo came in, he sacked those who worked for General Abdusalami Abubakar and brought his own into the offices”.
The security observer also disclosed that with challenges going on in the country, the incoming president would like to overhaul the security agencies with a view to bringing in those whom he believes would help him accomplish his vision.
“With or without the ongoing war against the terrorists, Buhari would inject his own men whom he believes would help him implement his vision for the nation in terms of the security challenges. Those who are there now have been doing their best and we are seeing the results, yet that should not stop Buhari from appointing his own men at least for security and loyalty reasons”.
Just as President Jonathan replaced those he inherited from the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, it’s believed that General Buhari would also name a new NSA and new DG, SSS in his first week in office who would help him in identifying those who could be in charge of all the security agencies.
Those who came on board with Obasanjo on 29th May, 1999 were Lt-Gen.Victor Malu (Army), Vice-Admiral Victor Ombu (Navy) and Air Marshal Isaac Alfa (Air Force) to replace Maj.-Gen. Alex Ogomudia (Army), Rear-Admiral Samuel Afolayan (Navy) and Air Vice-Marshal Jonah Wuyep (Air Force) but were later replaced by Late Musa Yar’adua’s men then later with President Jonathan security aides.
Meanwhile, General Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the polls may have proceeded well for governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but following a show-down with the president-elect on Sunday, things are beginning to head south.

ANALYSIS: Carlo Ancelotti’s men are looking to overturn a 2-1 deficit in the Champions League semi-final, but are the history books on their side?

The Champions League draw is often greeted by coaches taking solace from receiving home ties for second legs - even if they have been pitted an easy  Uefa also seems to feel that such a situation presents an advantage, rewarding Champions League group winners with an away last-16 first leg, meaning the decisive second encounter will be played in front of their own fans.
From the quarter-finals onwards there is an open draw, although the venue of each leg remains a key consideration in any draw analysis. By the time we reach the last four, though, are teams playing the second leg at home really more likely to progress?

The simple answer is 'not really', with the current trend moving further away from the perception that a home second leg is helpful.
This week, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid return home in an attempt to overturn first-leg deficits. Pep Guardiola’s side have an uphill battle on their hands after losing 3-0 to Barcelona at Camp Nou, while fans of Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid are more optimistic of turning around a 2-1 deficit at home to Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. remain odds-on favourites with the bookmakers to reach the final in Berlin despite being behind in the tie, with home advantage seemingly a crucial factor. The statistics, though, show that should not be the case.
Two-legged semi-finals in the Champions League returned in 1995 when Ajax and AC Milan both secured a place in that year’s final having received home second legs.
The overall picture from the last two decades suggests such a situation has not given the teams in question an advantage. In total, just 17 out of the 40 semi-final sides (42.5 per cent) who played the return match in their own stadium have progressed to the final during the Champions League era.
In recent years, that trend has become increasingly marked. Over the last six seasons, only two out of the 12 teams (17%) to have home second legs in the last four have reached the final.

Manchester United (against Schalke) and Barcelona (against Real Madrid) both bucked the trend to reach the 2011 showpiece at Wembley, but each of the other five years has seen the progress of every team playing away in the second leg.
Madrid’s own experiences in recent years do not bode well for them. In 2012 and 2013 they suffered consecutive semi-final exits when playing the second legs at home against Bayern and Borussia Dortmund respectively under Jose Mourinho.
Their run to last year’s final came after playing the return game against Bayern in Germany, while Atletico Madrid sealed their spot in Lisbon after a successful second leg against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Does the prospect of an extra-time period allowing visiting sides an extra 30 minutes to score an invaluable away goal actually put the home teams at a disadvantage? Are the clubs involved at this late stage playing at such a high level that the venue does not have much of an influence on the outcome? Are away first-legs leaving teams too much ground to make up?
Whatever the reason, home advantage in the second leg is quickly becoming a curse at the semi-final stage. The statistics highlight the scale of Madrid's task in their hunt for a record-breaking 11th title.
With Bayern all but out of the competition following their Camp Nou collapse and Madrid far from certain to progress against a Juve side who are set to include Paul Pogba and have a lead to defend, the recent trend could well be extended through 2015.
