Governor Abdulfatah
Ahmed of Kwara State has sacked all political appointees including
commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special
assistants.

The
governor, according to Leadership, made the political shake-up known in
a statement on Monday, May 11, by Alhaji Isiaka Gold, the secretary to
the government of Kwara state (SSG).
Those
affected by the shake-up include all boards of government-owned
companies, commissions, parastatals, and organizations other than those
of statutory status.
The statement
also mandated that all those relieved of their political appointments
must handover government properties in their custody to their permanent
secretaries, while heads of other MDAs were required to handover to the
most senior officers in their establishment.
Governor
Abdulfatah thanked to all the affected political office holders for
their immeasurable contributions to the success of his administration in
the last four years and wished them success in their future endeavors
Many
governors of other states have taken similar actions in dissolving
their state executive council in preparation to hand over to the
incoming administration on May 29.
